California-based DOMAINE RESTAURANTS AND BRUSH CREEK HOSPITALITY (founded 1994) has increased by 1 unit, from 5 to 6 (20% growth) and entered into CO with the addition of a new concept called Bia Hoi @ Snowmass.  The restaurants are upscale concepts, serving multiple types of cuisines.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner, with a $15-$50+ per person check average.  The restaurants have full bar service and average seating for around 125.  Catering and banquet services are offered.  Trading areas are CA, CO, and IL.  Other company concepts are 25 Degrees (4) and Public Kitchen & Bars @ Roosevelt Hotel (1).

 

Dallas, TX-based LA MADELEINE BAKERY CAFE (founded 1983) has increased by 10 units, from 59 to 69 (17% growth).  This fast casual bakery/cafe concept is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a $4-$12+ per person check average.  Locations serve beer and wine and seat around 125.  Catering, private party and online ordering services are available.  Trading areas are GA, LA, MD, OK, TX, and VA.

 

Emerging and Re-emerging Concepts

Eugene, OR-based CAFE YUMM (founded 1997) has increased by 2 units, from 12 to 14 (17% growth).  This fast casual sandwich shop is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a $4-$12+ per person price range.  The restaurants serve beer and wine and seat around 90.  Catering service is available.  Locations are in OR and WA.

 

BURGER 21 of Tampa, FL has increased by 2 units, from 13 to 15 (15% growth) and expanded into AZ.  These are fast casual burger restaurants with seating for around 80.  Beer and wine are offered.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $4-$12+.  Franchising is offered.  Locations are in AZ, FL, GA, NC, NJ, NY and VA.

Boston, MA-based BOLOCO INSPIRED BURRITOS (founded 1997) has increased by 1 unit, from 21 to 22 (5% growth).  This fast casual Mexican concept is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a $4-$12+ per person price range.  Units have seating for about 40 and offer catering and online ordering services.  Trading areas are DC, MA, MD, NH, RI, and VT.  We last featured this concept on 1/15/13 (17% growth).

 

BURGERFI based in North Palm Beach, FL (founded 2010) has increased by 21 units, from 47 to 68 (45% growth) and expanded into AL, AZ, CA, KS, MA, NJ, SC and PA. These are fast casual burger restaurants with seating for around 60.  Beer and wine are served.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $4-$12.  Franchising is offered.  Locations are in AL, AZ, CA, CT, GA, FL, IL, KS, MA, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, OH, SC, PA, TN, TX and VA.  We featured this company on 1/22/13 (200% growth) and again on 10/22/13 (292% growth).

 

Sandy, UT-based BEANS & BREWS COFFEE HOUSE (founded 1993) has increased by 3 units, from 25 to 28 (12% growth) and entered into NV.  This is a quick serve coffee shop, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner hours.  Stores have limited seating and offer drive-thru and online ordering services.  Trading areas are NV and UT.  Franchising is now available.  We wrote about this concept on 5/14/13 (9% growth).
