Charley Shin, founder and CEO of CHARLEY\’S PHILLY STEAKS had his very first Philly cheesesteak back in 1985 while he was attending Ohio State University. He had an appetite for success at a young age and knew he wanted  to share his cheesesteak experience with others on a massive scale. Foster City, CA-based STARBIRD CHICKEN (founded 2021) is bringing its crispy, chicken fried to perfection to Hermosa Beach, CA soon. They have increased from 12 to 13 units (8% growth) since June. These quick-serve chicken restaurants are open for lunch and dinner with seating for around 90 patrons. Having a party and want some delicious food your guests won\’t forget? Ask about their catering services!  

Long before its inception, STARBIRD CHICKEN was obsessed with perfecting their recipe. They wanted to create fried chicken without all the negative effects-heavy, greasy etc. A group of chefs sharing this mindset got together and they started with quality ingredients, real scratch cooking and antibiotic-free chicken. The end result was exactly what they had envisioned and even more – the perfect batch of fried chicken!

President, Sam Berry grew up in the restaurant industry but didn\’t like the idea of working for someone else\’s vision. He wanted something to call his own without restrictions. He felt that living in a right-handed world, being left-handed himself, he wasn\’t always understood. Taking matters into his own hands in 2012, LEFTY\’S CHEESESTEAKS was born, and it became a place that he could innovate and express himself the best way he knew how: left-handed.

Livonia, MI-based LEFTY\’S CHEESESTEAKS is opening a new location in Brandon, FL soon, increasing from 33 to 36 units (9% growth). They have also entered into OH. These quick-serve sandwich restaurants are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with seating for around 90 patrons. Back in 1956, a small storefront called \”Mikes Subs\” opened its doors in Point Pleasant, NJ. At that time, there were very few hamburger chains or franchise restaurants. Traditional mom-and-pop businesses would open a storefront and survive by providing quality food and excellent customer service. That\’s just what Mikes did. Then in 1971, a high school student named Peter Cancro began working at the shop at the age of 14. He loved working there, interacting with the customers and hearing all about their vacations down at the shore. Fast forward 3 years. Peter had heard that the sub shop was going up for sale and he was interested in purchasing it. He discussed it with his high school football coach (who was also a banker). One thing led to another, and his coach backed the loan for him. At just the tender age of 17, Peter Cancro owned the sub shop and the rest was history!

Today, there are over 2000 Jersey Mike\’s locations throughout the U.S and they will be opening another in Miami, FL soon. They serve lunch and dinner in a fast/casual setting that seats around 20 patrons. They even offer catering services so you can enjoy their delicious subs at your next event!
