Back in 1956, a small storefront called \”Mikes Subs\” opened its doors in Point Pleasant, NJ. At that time, there were very few hamburger chains or franchise restaurants. Traditional mom-and-pop businesses would open a storefront and survive by providing quality food and excellent customer service. That\’s just what Mikes did. Then in 1971, a high school student named Peter Cancro began working at the shop at the age of 14. He loved working there, interacting with the customers and hearing all about their vacations down at the shore. Fast forward 3 years. Peter had heard that the sub shop was going up for sale and he was interested in purchasing it. He discussed it with his high school football coach (who was also a banker). One thing led to another, and his coach backed the loan for him. At just the tender age of 17, Peter Cancro owned the sub shop and the rest was history!

Today, there are over 2000 Jersey Mike\’s locations throughout the U.S and they will be opening another in Miami, FL soon. They serve lunch and dinner in a fast/casual setting that seats around 20 patrons. They even offer catering services so you can enjoy their delicious subs at your next event!
