Summary

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is headquartered at 17461 Derian Avenue, Suite 200, in Irvine, California and is the U.S. revolving sushi brand of Kura Sushi USA, Inc. Kura Sushi USA was organized in 2008 as a subsidiary of Kura Sushi, Inc. of Japan, whose first restaurant opened in 1977, and it opened its first U.S. restaurant in Irvine in 2009. The company completed its initial public offering in 2019, and its Class A shares trade on the Nasdaq under the symbol KRUS. Kura Sushi, Inc., which trades on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, owns all of the Class B shares and part of the Class A shares and holds a majority of the voting power, making it the parent. Hajime Uba serves as chairman, president and chief executive. All restaurants are company owned. Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is the concept. Restaurants are casual dining and serve lunch and dinner with sushi delivered on a revolving conveyor belt and an express belt for dishes ordered on tableside touch screens. Plates travel under Mr. Fresh domes with plate tracking, and Bikkura-Pon tableside machines reward guests for dining milestones. The menu also includes ramen, tempura, gyoza and desserts prepared without artificial sweeteners, seasonings, colorings or preservatives. A typical restaurant offers roughly 100 seats in about 3,000 square feet. The company's restaurants span the West Coast, the Sunbelt, the Midwest and the Northeast.

The Restaurant Enterprise Index focuses primarily on companies with a substantial role in restaurant operations. Investment firms, financial sponsors, and other ownership partners are generally not included unless they also play a meaningful operating role; an otherwise qualifying entity may also be omitted when sufficient reliable information is unavailable.

The ownership hierarchy follows the entity structure from the bottom up, showing the profiled entity in relation to its parent organizations, including its ultimate parent. When the entity owns or operates concepts beneath it, up to three are displayed.

Verify Our Data Methodology
