L & L HAWAIIAN BARBECUE based in Honolulu, HI (founded 1976) has increased by 4 units, from 180 to 184 (2% growth).  These are quick serve restaurants with seating for around 50.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $4-$12+.  Catering and online ordering are offered.  Locations are franchised and are in AK, AZ, CA, CO, HI, NV, NY, OR, TX, UT, WA, Japan, New Zealand and China

 

KOJI OSAKAYA JAPANESE RESTAURANT based in Portland, OR (founded 1981) has increased by 1 unit, from 3 to 4 (33% growth) and expanded into WA.  These are family/casual restaurants with full bar and seating for around 70.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $10-$30+.  Catering is available.  Locations are in OR and WA.

 

Santa Fe, NM-based SANTA FE DINING has increased by 1 unit, from 6 to 7 (17% growth), with the addition of a new concept called Maria’s New Mexico.  The restaurants are family/casual, serving mostly Mexican cuisine.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner, with an $8-$20+ per person check average.  The concepts have full bar and average seating for 200.  Catering and banquet services are available.  All locations are in NM.

GREENBERRY’S COFFEE & TEA based in Charlottesville, VA (founded 1992) has increased by 2 units, from 12 to 14 (17% growth).  These are quick serve shops with seating for around 30.  Meal periods are breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $4-$12+. Locations are more than 90% franchised and are in LA, NJ and VA.

Richardson, TX-based WINGSTOP (founded 1994) has increased by 52 units, from 563 to 615 (9% growth) and entered into PA and UT.  This fast casual chicken wings concept is open for lunch and dinner, with a $6-$15+ per person price range.  Locations serve beer and wine and seat around 60.  Catering and online ordering are available.  Units are franchised and trade in AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KY, LA, MD, MI, MO, MS, NC, NE, NM, NV, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, and Mexico.  We last wrote about this concept on 2/26/13 (6% growth).

 

GENGHIS GRILL based in Dallas, TX (founded 1998) has increased by 5 units from 107 to 112 (5% concept growth). These are fast casual Asian restaurants with seating for around 125.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $8-$20. Franchising is offered.  Other company concepts are Baker Bros American Deli (12) and Taco Bell/KFC/Long John Silver’s (120).  Overall company increase is from 235 to 244 (4% company growth).  Locations are in AL, AR, AZ, CO, FL, GA, IA, IL, KS, KY, LA, MD, MN, MO, MS, NC, NM, NV, OK, SC, TN, TX and VA.  We reported on this concept on 8/20/13 (13% growth).

 

Rochester, NY-based SALVATORE’S OLD FASHIONED PIZZERIA (founded 1978) has increased by 3 units, from 26 to 29 (12% growth).  The restaurants are quick serve, open for lunch and dinner.  Per person price range is $4-$12+.  Units have seating for around 30.  Online ordering, delivery, catering and drive-thru services are all offered.  All the strores are located in NY.  We last featured this concept on 4/30/13 (18% growth).
